Whether it be your teenage years or early twenties, most of us have gone through a reckless period in our youth. A time when we were making rash decisions just to feel alive and feel the blood rushing through our veins.
Bathing in risk and carelessness because we felt invincible. We never feel the presence of death because we were young, but there will come a day when it can't be ignored.
A looming threat that reminds you that you're made of flesh and not steel. Running from your destiny is not an option as this shadow pursues you day and night. The Guardian of the Shadows goes by many names as he is present in various cultures.

In our youth , we don't see the danger of our actions. Whether it be picking a fight with the wrong one or refusing to call an Uber after a long night out, each move we make holds significance.
Not a Care in the World
Being young is a blessing and a curse, all wrapped in one. A lot of times, we don't realize how lucky we are to wake up each and every day. Being human, we only have one life to live, and we should make the most of it.

But the neurons in an adolescent’s mind sometimes can't make the connection to change their behavior. We've all had risky nights and sometimes one mistake can last a lifetime.
We are told that everyone deserves a second chance; however, some of us aren't so lucky. One bad decision can change your life for the worse. For example, in today's modern world, DUI’s are still prevalent yet ride-share apps exist.
Even though you can expect a hefty fine and the loss of your driving privileges, it's the best-case scenario when your actions can be the reason someone ends up in the hospital.
Life is too short to make poor choices that can negatively affect a person. The wanted feline learned this the hard way as his nonsensical behavior was finally catching up with him.
The Fear of Death Consumes You
The ghost of the past always finds a way to rear its ugly head. A wolf in the distance will be waiting for you at your weakest moment. Your obnoxious and abrasive behavior led you astray. The feeling of regret creeps up your spine as Death has finally come to claim his penance. Whether good or bad, each decision made has consequences.

If you write every day, eventually something great will come of it; however, if you party every night, eventually, your body or mind will need a chance to recover. With his past staring at the musketeer, an overwhelming wave of dread washed over his paralyzed body.
With the smell of decay littering the air, you realize you may have made too many mistakes along the road. You always smiled in the face of danger and threw caution to the wind.
You thought the band of life would always stay together no matter how much chaos was between its members. Diving head first into situations with no precautions you come to find out maybe you should think before you act.

With this realization, you become conflicted, isolating yourself from loved ones for fear of the inevitable visit from the Grim Reaper. You sacrifice your pride and decide to stay inside, forgoing the life of a vigilante.
Destiny
Try as we might, avoiding destiny is something we can't afford. Staying under the safety net of a caretaker when your soul craves the unbridled freedom of adventure is detrimental. The toll of isolation weighs heavy on the heart especially while others are out living your dream. Hiding away always causes more problems than it can solve.

Yes you can live out your years peacefully by avoiding conflict however is it a life worth living? Can you hide from your calling for the rest of your days, or will you pick the sword back up and fight for the future you deserve.
After a traumatic event, it's hard to get back on your feet. Facing yourself in the mirror and realizing you need to change is a difficult pill to swallow.
It could be asking for a well deserved promotion but fear is holding you back. Changing your diet to gain a healthier lifestyle or even something as small as consuming a little less alcohol each day, there's always room for growth.
There will be a time to go back outside into the real world without this invincible shield of invincibility.Change is a necessary faction of life, and without it, one remains stagnant.
Nothing is Permanent
One of the things that makes life so special is that it isn't permanent. The love you share with one should be cherished until your last breath. The Wolf in The Last Wish isn't necessarily evil; he is a fact of life.

Sometimes, the world is a cruel place, and we can never predict when it's our time to go. There is always a chance something could go wrong, even when doing your daily routine.
Sometimes, an outside force is needed to humble the best of us. The Wolf makes Puss in Boots feel the fear of the afterlife and teaches him to never take things for granted. Life is too precious to waste, and we should all have a grasp of that concept.
In your darkest time, there is room to mature into a better version of yourself. Even though you have to go back to your risky line of work, you can move differently and cut down the inherent risk of the path you choose to follow.

No one's saying you can't be a hero, but there is a better way to do the job without volunteering one's head on a guillotine. You now understand the cost of your reckless behavior, and you are ready to take life by the horns.
I loved this movie too!!!
