Love transcends all, even solidifying a connection between man and beast. Life has a funny way of turning things upside down, and these two were no different. Our most ancient ancestors still knew how to tell stories without the use of words. Sometimes, nonverbal communication is the best way to convey emotion, as facial expressions and physical touch ruled the day in this period.
Albeit not being of the same species they somehow found each other in their lowest moments, forging a friendship that can stand the test of time.
The Weight of Loss
Their respective families gave them purpose and the drive necessary to endure these tumultuous situations. They could rest knowing someone was waiting for them to come home, no matter how terrible the day. Life was beautiful, but one can never get too comfortable.

One must learn from the past, plan for the future, and, most importantly, appreciate the present. Peaceful times may exist now; however, like the rolling tides, change was about to happen.
The trauma these two experienced would bring a tear to the hardest soul. Seeing their families meet their end in the most savage way would affect anyone.
A nightmare brought to life, their children spent the last moments of life screaming in agony as the wild was now digesting everything they held dear. Life irrevocably changed in a single evening, one would question how function let alone carry on.
The soul can only bear so much; witnessing such an event can push one over the edge. A person can be swallowed whole by the shadow life has cast upon them. Sometimes, destiny has no mercy and will test you in ways beyond your imagination.
Light in the Darkness
Failure never cut so deep as Spear contemplated taking his own life. He couldn't secure a safe home for his family, so what was his worth as a man? With his world shattered beyond repair he had no choice but to walk this cold world alone.

While staring soullessly into the abyss, love is absent, and with suicide on the table, he is ready to take that final leap into the valley of no return.
Taught early on, a person who can't provide is useless, for even children are not safe from the responsibilities of being a warrior.
In the blink of an eye, what you now know today can be the opposite of tomorrow. In the middle of a catastrophe, sometimes, the phone call that can change your life is an animal mourning in the distance.
Similar to Spear, Fang is already accustomed to suffering. However, in the darkest of times, there is still light. Her loss of her family is a pain no mother can fully recover from. Her children meant more than the world to her; even in death, the mother's bond still ran deep.

Fang is a wild animal but at her core she is a loving parent. Although massive when compared to Spear, she pales in comparison to some of the threats they would soon face.
A lone dinosaur with two infants, it was no wonder she was overprotective. No matter how secluded one might think they are, trouble can always be far away.
A Promise
With their bond cemented in barbarity and tragedy, the two went on an unbridled rampage that seemed to last an eternity. Not to be deterred by a little bloodshed, the two were seemingly unstoppable.
Nothing was off the table. From zombified giants to toxic rulers and vicious bats, fear had no place in the warzone.
Over the countless struggles, they found a best friend in one another. Neither would abandon the other, no matter the circumstance.

Fang and Spear's beautiful relationship was far beyond just a man's domestication of a wild beast. It was built on trust and understanding, with a foundation of undying loyalty. Demons on the battlefield, but family by fire, they cared for one another as everyone was against them.
With ferocity and brutality on the daily menu, eventually, peace will touch the sky, and Mira is its name. Just like her two new allies, her backstory is filled with sorrow.

On the run from her captors, she wished to be a slave no more. Even though tensions were high at first, she became a crucial member of the team.
Beyond being a capable archer, she took it upon herself to introduce the pair to cooking. Even more, she taught Spear how to speak without using grunts or screams. She was an excellent addition to the new family and proved her worth several times over.
A lovely individual who showed she could survive in nature's harshest climate, at the end of the day, she was looking for a home. Craving the peace Spear was trying to provide, they could never sleep easy knowing what's out in the wild.

Traveling through the brush always presented a new challenge. Through many interactions, they understood that the world is terrifying and forgiveness is absent. The question now is how far Spear would go to provide a home.
He dedicated his entire being to giving them peace of mind and the security they rightfully deserved. All the while knowing eventually, the nomadic lifestyle would lead to death. How would you feel caring for a child in a place where danger lurks in every blind spot?
Home
With this in mind, Spear knew his time was coming, as he finally gave his Spear and Mira the safety they'd been searching for all this time. However, there was one great hurdle left.
Symbolizing his fiery past, hell has finally reached the front gates of his new home. A demon covered from head to two with flames of hell could come to strip everything Spear had worked so hard for.

Proving the past will always haunt you, even when trying to walk down a different path.
Life has always been violent, but this encounter was different. A battle to tested a man's merit. Whether it be terminal illenss or a physical confrontation, a warrior will have to walk through the fire to get to the goal.
A moment, hopefully, he will shield his family from. With burns saturating his body, he charged forward. Fang's screams were the last motivation he needed to finish the fight. He grew closer to his goal with each blow—a Valhalla for warriors.

The pain of loss burns brighter by the second. He is truly built for this confrontation. A soldier before even knew the meaning.
Animalistic in nature, he died for something and lived for everything.
